Huey P. Long Pool

HUEY P. LONG POOL

Now a run-down ruin—
Like an old Southern mansion
But divoon back then

Back in the Sixties—
The Dixie Decadence was
Very addictive

Summer school was like—
Being a rich Guest at the Spa
Lollygagging there

By the swimming pool—
Cruising guys in the showers
Or reading Faulkner

What better way to—
Avoid Quentin at Harvard
His sad suicide…
