“the smoke flowed
in two jets from
his nostrils across
his face”
—William Faulkner,
The Sound and the Fury

He looked down at me—
This time he wasn’t smirking
He saw Caddy’s face.

He saw my sister—
The look on her face after
He fucked her real slow.

Dalton helped me up—
Leaned me against the old bridge
Dusted off my shirt.

Then he kissed me—
“Well, too bad you’re not a girl.
You’ve got Caddy’s lips.”

He kissed me again—
Getting his big thick tongue
Halfway down my throat.

Squeezing my ass tight—
Not letting me get away
From his butch clutches.
